Abstract
The article presents the approach to developing the concept of a complex professional development model for employing AI in the university classroom. The program aims to enhance the academic staff AI literacy, the ability to efficiently and ethically integrate AI in the teaching and learning process. This might result in creating a dynamic and motivating learning environment, guaranteed quality assurance, personalised tutoring and learning experience, which fosters students’ critical thinking and prepares them for future technological breakthrough in the digital era. A formalized four-level concept of AI literacy development for university staff is proposed, including quantitative and qualitative efficiency criteria. The results of piloting the model in Ural State University of Economics are presented.
