Abstract
The article focuses on judicial practice, which ranks among the most challenging tasks for legal experts. Courts issue millions of decisions that contain data on case positions, evidence, and amounts to be paid; yet existing legal systems provide limited analytical capacity. The aim of the article is to access the applicability of artificial intelligence technologies in systematizing large volumes of legal text. The advancements in artificial intelligence technologies hold the potential to significantly enhance the efficiency and the quality of judicial practice analysis. The article provides an overview of academic publications, evaluates existing judicial analytics tools, as well as presents the novel methodology developed by the authors. The proposed methodology for analyzing judicial practice may be of interest to lawyers, software developers, government agencies, and is also suitable for use in educational settings.
