Abstract
In recent years, the artificial intelligence market has been growing rapidly. The paper aims to identify and analyse the risks arising from the use of artificial intelligence tools in higher education and to suggest ways of reducing these risks. The information base includes a literature review on the issues of applying artificial intelligence methods and tools in higher education, as well as a qualitative analysis of the results of surveys conducted among academic staff and university students in various countries. As a result, the article highlights the positive aspects of using artificial intelligence tools in higher education such as the development of educational technologies and improving the quality of higher education. The study pays particular attention to the negative aspects of the widespread use of artificial intelligence, which lead to a decline in the quality of education, such as bias in the assessment of student works, insufficient development of critical thinking among students, and a low level of proficiency in artificial intelligence tools among lecturers. The article suggests ways to mitigate risks by building a model of interaction with artificial intelligence, rethinking the roles of all participants in the educational process, teaching methods and pedagogical technologies.
